NY man sues for return of nude Marilyn Monroe pics

NEW YORK (AP) — A photographer is suing two others to force the return of seven nude and seminude pictures of Marilyn Monroe he says were stolen from him.

Bert Stern says the photos, taken on assignment for Vogue magazine in July 1962, are worth more than $100,000 each.

He says they were in a series of “unique and irreplaceable images” of the movie star taken at Los Angeles’ Bel Air Hotel six weeks before she was found dead from an overdose of drugs. ... read more

Man gets prison for crime at Dunst’s NYC hotel

NEW YORK (AP) — A drug addict who was arrested on charges of burglarizing Kirsten Dunst’s New York City hotel penthouse suite has been sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison.

Jarrod Beinerman was arrested on burglary and larceny charges after a security camera captured his movements in Manhattan’s SoHo Grand Hotel in August 2007. He was allowed to plead guilty to the lesser charge of attempted burglary.

Police: DNA links man to slaying of Kutcher’s ex

LOS ANGELES (AP) — DNA evidence has linked an air conditioning repairman to the stabbing deaths of three women, including a former girlfriend of actor Ashton Kutcher, police said Friday.

Michael Gargiulo, 32, of Santa Monica has been in custody since July for a separate knife attack and could face murder charges as soon as next week, police said.

‘Prince Caspian’ pushes ‘Iron Man’ off throne

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” dethroned “Iron Man” as ruler at the box office, pulling down $56.6 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

‘Speed Racer’ gets passed by $50.5M ‘Iron Man’

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Speed Racer” was lapped in its opening weekend at the box office as “Iron Man” continued to fire its jets with $50.5 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The anime-inspired race movie edged into the No. 2 spot with $20.2 million, slightly ahead of the 20th Century Fox comedy “What Happens in Vegas,” which debuted at $20 million.

Marvel turns ‘Iron Man’ into gold

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Iron Man” was pure gold at the box office.

The Marvel Comics adaptation, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the guy in the metal suit, hauled in $100.7 million during its opening weekend and $104.2 million since debuting Thursday night, the second-best premiere ever for a nonsequel, according to studio estimates Sunday.
