LOS ANGELES (AP) — Crazed killer Jigsaw has been done in by a bunch of singing and dancing teens.

Disney’s “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” hoofed its way to the top of the weekend box office class with $42 million, while Lionsgate’s horror sequel “Saw V” had to settle for second place with $30.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

U.S. urges no leniency for Hathaway’s ex-boyfriend

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. prosecutors have told a judge that actress Anne Hathaway’s former boyfriend deserves no leniency for cheating investors in a church scam.

Prosecutors submitted court papers in Manhattan on Monday saying that Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri deserves more than the four years in prison he promised to serve when he pleaded guilty.

Follieri is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday for cheating investors of millions of dollars.

‘Eagle Eye’ soars to No. 1 at box office with $29M

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Shia LaBeouf’s conspiracy thriller “Eagle Eye” debuted at the top of the weekend box office with $29.2 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The Paramount-DreamWorks release was the second No. 1 premiere for LaBeouf and director D.J. Caruso, who also teamed on 2007’s hit “Disturbia.”

‘Bangkok Dangerous’ reaches No. 1 in slow weekend

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Nicolas Cage action-thriller “Bangkok Dangerous” needed just $7.8 million to take the top spot at the box office in what was the slowest movie weekend in five years, according to studio estimates released Sunday.

Tommy Lee Jones seeks $10M in ‘No Country’ lawsuit

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Tommy Lee Jones is suing the makers of “No Country for Old Men” for more than $10 million that the Oscar-winning actor claims he is owed for starring in the 2007 hit crime thriller.
